What is ultrasonic welding? Principle of plastic ultrasonic welding

In recent years, with the continuous upgrading of technology, the application of ultrasonic welding technology in plastics has gradually shown a growing trend. At present, there are ultrasonic plastic welding processes in daily necessities, 3C products, automobiles and even aerospace. What is ultrasonic welding? We all know that sound is a wave that can propagate in gases, liquids and solids, while ultrasonic waves are a special type of sound wave with a frequency higher than 20,000 Hz. Ultrasonic welding technology is a technology that welds various parts through the mechanical and thermal effects generated by ultrasonic vibrations. The specific principle is to use high-frequency vibration waves to transmit to the surface of two objects to be welded. Under pressure, the surfaces of the two objects rub against each other, forming a fusion between the molecular layers. The main components of the ultrasonic welding system include ultrasonic generators, transducers, horns, welding heads, molds and frames. Ultrasonic welding uses an ultrasonic generator to convert 50/60hz current into 15, 20, 30 or 40KHz of electrical energy. The converted high-frequency electrical energy is converted again into mechanical motion of the same frequency through the transducer, and then the mechanical motion is transmitted to the welding head through a set of horn devices that can change the amplitude. The welding head transfers the received vibration energy to the joint of the workpiece to be welded. In this area, the vibrational energy is converted into thermal energy by friction, melting the area where the welded part is required. Ultrasonic can be used not only for welding metals and hard thermoplastics, but also for processing fabrics and films. This article mainly introduces metal welding and plastic welding. The principle of ultrasonic metal welding is a special method of using the mechanical vibration energy of the ultrasonic frequency (more than 16KHz) to connect the same metal or different metals. When metal ultrasonic welding, neither current is transmitted to the workpiece nor a high temperature heat source is applied to the workpiece, but under the action of static pressure, the vibration energy of the frame is converted into friction work, deformation energy and limited temperature rise between the workpiece. Metallurgical bonding between joints is a type of solid-state welding that is achieved without melting the base metal. Effectively overcome the spatter and oxidation phenomena caused by resistance welding. Ultrasonic metal welding machine can be single-point welding, multi-point welding and short-band welding of thin wire or thin plate materials of non-ferrous metals such as copper, silver, aluminum, nickel and so on. It can be widely used in the welding of thyristor leads, fusing plates, electrical leads, lithium battery pole plates, and joints. Ultrasonic plastic welding When ultrasonic waves act on the thermoplastic contact surfaces, tens of thousands of high-frequency vibrations are generated per second. This high-frequency vibration with a certain amplitude transfers ultrasonic energy through the upper weld to the welding area. Since the welding area is t
